Patriots Can Lift Past The Saints With Patience.

The 4-1 New England Patriots are playing the role of under dogs at their home place in Foxboro. That role is something that Tom Brady, Bill Belichek, and the likes of a few others have never truly got the taste of. The visiting opponent the New Orleans Saints 5-0 come to town and scoop up a victory.

not so fast.

Points: 26.8 (9th).

Yards: 405.0 (4th).

P.yards: 327.2 (2nd).

Rushing: 77.8 (28th).

The Saints come in as one of the Hottest offense’s in the league. Drew Brees is having himself a monster year. He is simply feeding his offensive weapons and guys Jimmy Graham and Marquise Colston. Jimmy Graham being the main part of the offensegathering 593 receiving yards on 37 catches and 6 touchdowns. Wide receiver Marques Colston would be the next guy to Jimmy Graham with 313 on 23 receptions and 1 touchdown. Drew Brees third weapon is none other than the speedy running back Darrren Sproles racking up 303 yards receiving with 26 passes hauled in and 1 touchdown after him the other guy’s are all about the same statistically.

It’s a new day in New England with the defense leading the charge.

the 2013 season was a complete turnover so far. That includes the team’s top flight offense was not so “top flight” however during that turnover the Patriots defensive unit showed growth and maturation. The course of the last few seasons of developing talent and drafting guys to make immediate impacts like Chandler Jones and Donte Hightower and drafting Jamie Collins the freak athlete who can keep up with tight ends and runningsbacks in the open field it has finally started to come together and just at the right time.

Defense will keep the Patriots in the game while they can remain the patient with their rushing attack to control the time that Drew Brees and his offense will be on the field as well as being able to develop a play action attack to keep the New Orleans Saints defense guessing throughout the game.

While the long-awaited return of tight end Rob Gronkowski is still technically speaking “questionable” however there have been reports surfacing stating that Doctor James Andrews says it would be wise to sit the Patriots star tight end for at least 1 more week. The Patriots release their official inactives players list 90 minutes prior to kick off so its anyones guess. The Patriots will try and get rookies Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins to make more consistent plays while Danny Amendola shakes off some rust as he too was dealing with a lingering groin issues.

  • Another note is running back Stevan looks to bounce back from an injury and could ultimately help lead the offense and control the tempo.
