Threes are Wild in Boston

The game 3 puck drop will soon be upon us. It’s clear that the Bruins and Blackhawks are evenly matched. Though there is one striking difference between these two Original Six clubs. Boston has been dominant in game 3s and Chicago has been quite woeful.

Chicago has lost each of their game 3s this postseason, falling short against Minnesota, Detroit, and Los Angeles.

The Hawks have been outscored in game 3s 9-4 this playoff season.

Boston on the other hand has yet to lose a game 3, defeating Toronto, New York, and Pittsburgh.

During his tenor with the Bruins, Claude Julien is 12-1 in game 3s. If you believe in history repeating itself than calm your nerves, Boston’s chances of winning are high. They have ripped off 10 straight game 3 wins.

Boston will either continue their success or Chicago will snap a dreadful streak. Though Julien will tell you that the past has not effect on the present. “Stats this time of year don’t mean a thing,” said Julien.

The Bruins last game 3 loss came back in 2009. They fell to the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime.

My Prediction:

Bruins defeat the Blackhawks 3-2 because well, 3s are wild tonight. 98% of the time this series has been separated by one goal. Therefore a one-goal victory is not out of the realm of possibility.
