Celtics Defeat Bobcats despite Garnett’s absence

A few days removed from arguably the worse loss of the season for the Celtics against the worse team in the league record wise sitting at 14-52 the reason we are having this conversation? Yes I have no idea either. Last time these two teams faced Boston was without the captain Paul Pierce and was handed a 26pts loss in Charlotte. This time the Celtics would be without the defensive anchor and heart and soul of their team Kevin Garnett who was out with a strained abductor. With adversity kicking down the door as usual for the Celtics you’d expect them to respond? And so they did giving the Bobcats a taste of their own medicine routing the same Bobcats that beat the breaks off of them just days before. Tonight Boston didn’t hold back any punches in route to a 105-88 victory with a total team effort with all 5 starters scoring in double digits as well as sixth man Jason Terry netting 15 pts going 5-6 from the field and hitting all three of his three pointers he took. As well Boston had 4 players with 4 rebounds and 4 or more assists in more than 20 minutes of play. On a night where the defensive anchor Kevin Garnett was sidelined the captain Paul Pierce stepped up and lead the team with 14 pts 8 assists and 6 rebs along with 3 blocks on 4-7 form the field and 2-3 from beyond the arc pierce finished out a +16 and led the Celtics to a convincing win. Other notable performers where Jeff Green who has continued hes great play of late chipping in 10pts ,as well fresh off of his second 10 day contract reserve big man Shalivk Randolph came in and made himself heard on both ends of the floor with his rebounding grabbing a team high 8rebs 4 offensive and 4 defensive. With the Celtics next game Monday against #1 seed and potential playoff opponent Miami Heat a day off on Sunday will be what the doctor ordered for Boston to get ready and most importantly get healthy here.
